Hello, here am i sitting with an old laptop that i want to install a linux distro on it and make it great again as it was. It might be a cool gift for my sister for christmass.
The laptop has a core 2 duo t5450( or something like that)
-2gb of ram
-160gb hdd(i have a spare 250 to use)

All i want to know is a good distro that supports google chrome(or a good browser for daily uses, youtube and some music) Please do let the distro so i know where to get it from

Have a good night and thanks!

I would suggest taking a look at Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and Zorin OS (Linux mint variation but made to look like windows 7) very interesting versions out there..

but you could go simple like EOS (also known as Endless OS), if all you need is a chrome web and email system for your laptop, it is Linux based but looks like android interface look alike (copied from ICAROS I believed.)

I have an old Q6400 laptop I amuse myself with at times, and EOS and Zorin OS run nicely on it.

There is a lot of distros out there. Ubuntu have several distros that have different (less demanding for cpu) desktop systems. Ubuntu Mate is my favourite so far, mostly because it is more simle desktop than "traditional" ubuntu.

Linux Lite is one distro that have the menus set up in similar way as Mint, and is also low demanding on resources. Personally I have used Mint more than Lite and is currently running Lite version 3.6 in order to get more familiar with it.
One feature in Lite I appreciate is the "Lite User Manager", to easilly making changes to users and groups.
