I've been noticing these weird lines in my monitor when playing games, most recently ESO I don't remember seeing these when I first bought the monitor 2 years ago. its a samsung S27E510C (27" curved). the distortions are thin chunks of the display going all the way horizontally along the screen where the image is slightly moved to the left. whatever is on the screen seems to affect where these chunks are appearing on the screen and sometimes there are more than one, the lines only appear when the camera is moving and go away when there is no movement on screen. this happen during movies and games. my drivers are up to date and my graphics card is a GTX 970
these are images of the problem https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1rioRF0aBna6OC5lMykZM7FeTh3I0ggUs?usp=sharing

Solution
That is called "Screen Tearing".
It happens when the frame rate (FPS - frames per second) of the game doesn't match the refresh rate (typically 60Hz) of your monitor.

Turning on V-sync will fix it by capping your frame rate at 60FPS.
