Input lag on two cpus vs one?

I was just wondering to myself, if I played any game (csgo, for example since everyone screams about input lag on that game) would there be much of a difference between two cpus and one cpu? For example if I played on an older, high end workstation/server with two cpu sockets, should I fill them both or just use one?

I don't know how Windows treats two CPUs is the thing, so I don't know if the game would use two cores from one cpu and two cores from the other?

You can't use only 1 CPU in an dual socket motherboard. Oh, and it actually depends on the workload. cinebench, blender, or other heavily multi-threaded workloads would definitely take advantage of dual 8180m 56-thread processors, whereas many, if not all, games would run worse than an old e8400.

Of course you can :) (Many manufacturers in the past would advise that customers could add the second cpu when/only if needed in the future, but, naturally, not all the RAM slots are functional with only a single CPU installed.)

Thank you, I did not know that.
