What is the difference between connecting fans to Motherboard's fan header and connecting it to molex connector of the psu?

Motherboard headers offer varable speed (normally with automatic control depending on temps)
Psu molex , the fan will run full speed all the time, the only real issue with this is noise - a faster fan is also a noisier fan.
