So I bought a new cooler, and installed it into my pc (Coolermaster masterliquid 120). Now the problem is that my temperatures seem off. On idle the temperatuers are 50 degrees. While gaming the temperature even rises to 90. Does anyone have a clue what the problem could be? My guess is the thermal paste but I would like some confirmation. Thanks in advance :)

PS: I use CAM software to monitor the heat of the CPU. When CAM says the temperature is like 50 and I put my hand behind the radiator and fan, it doesnt feel like 50 degrees.

Indeed, it is way too much. Make sure the water block is properly installed on the CPU, clean off the thermal paste and put on a fresh bit. A rice grain size drop should be more than enough, decent thermal paste can be had for a couple bucks.

Before that, while the system is running, feel the tubes. If there's no vibration then your pump died, but I doubt this is the case. Just to be sure.

The CPU i am using is the i7 3770. The problem is that i am hitting over 80 when running not even very heavy games. I recently reapplied thermal paste. Before i reapplied it was hitting about 80. So it went from bad to worse xD

Thanks for your answer. I already felt the tubes and the pump is indeed working. I will try to reapply thermal paste. If this doesn't work maybe I can buy some better paste? Because the standard isn't very great I think

Thermal paste only really affects temperatures by a few degrees at best. The difference between the best and worst thermal paste isn't very much.

Reseating the water block and making sure the cold plate is making full contact with the IHS, as well as a fresh round of thermal paste, should be enough.

you did reaply paste but did you check if you did not bend to much the pipes so fluid could run in also did you check if fan on cooler fins speed as it should or stay at same speed use hwinfo on sensor page and check all temp voltages and fan speed there .

I dont think the cables are bend too much. https://imgur.com/a/ylLR9 this is my setup so mayby you can see if it is good as it is? The reason the logo is sideways is because otherwise the tubes would have a lot of tension, does it matter that it is tilted?

i would try to put logo up and tubes fron front to coller on top if you could should be the same as it show in video http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-liquid-cooler/masterliquid-120/ another thing your fan push in to the back in the cooler fins .

So it was the thermal paste. After reapplying the thermal paste it didn't work. So I reapplied again but this time I prewarmed the paste because I had no other ideas xD. Well this did the job. Thank you so much guys
