CPU: i7-7700k PSU: corsair 750W GPU: EVGA GTX980

I have recently upgrade my CPU and motherboard. There is no Q code on the mobo and I updated the BIOS using the flashback feature, however there is still no signal on my monitor.

I have the monitor connected to the GPU using DVi as I don't have a HDMI cable, could this be the problem?

Solution

Actually, you got that wrong. When board start with new RAM, it automatically runs it at base speed, and you have to manually turn on XMP - not the other way around. So no matter how high speed is the ram you have, it always starts up at 2133 MHz at first boot.
No Q-code at all? Nothing shows up during boot? That would mean a problem with motherboard. Perhaps BIOS flashback failed, and you still have wrong BIOS version for KabyLake CPU.
I'm assuming GPU was working in your old rig, with the same DVI cable, so I see no reason it would not work now.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from jonathan.hedges98 : "Asus maximus viii hero no signal"

CPU: i7-7700k PSU: corsair 750W GPU: EVGA GTX980

I have recently upgraded and installed the motherboard and CPU. There is no Q code and I have updated to the latest bios using the flashback feature.

However there is still no signal on the monitor.

I have it connected to the GPU using DVi as I don't have a HDMI on hand for the motherboard.

Can anybody help?

Update:
I now have a HDMI cable so the monitor is connected to the mobo, still no luck. I have removed the GPU and sound card as well as all HDDs. There is one stick of RAM in the third slot. There are no warning LEDs (Q LEDs) and the error code is still 00 for "not used".

I have used the BIOS flashback to update it to 3401 which another user with the *exact* same CPU and mobo managed to boot with. The process seemed to complete fine as it took a few minutes of flashing.

I can only think it's a problem with the motherboard and I need a replacement...

Thanks for the suggestion, I did try the flashback 3 times with 2 different BIOS files and the light flashed for a few minutes before going off.

Either way I got a replacement motherboard and it has worked, however I now seem to have a problem with my RAM.

I get Q-code 53 which says invalid memory type or speed. I am using Corsair DDR4 2400Mhz with one stick of 8GB in the A2 slot (the one the manual says to use). While the 8GB version is not listed in the compatability table, the 4GB version is listed though, so I don't see why it would be a problem.

Is there a way to fix this without replacing yet another component...?

After looking at other people's problems, I have realised the board simply doesn't accept the RAM running at a higher speed until you change the XMP profile. However I don't see how I can do this without entering the BIOS setup; which would require working memory...

My current plan is to buy a cheap 4GB stick (that is definitely listed on the compatability table) and see if it will allow me to access the BIOS.
