Can't connect to default gateway but internet works

ipconfig gives me a default gateway of 192.168.1.1. I have a Netgear, so I can also go to routerlogin.net. Both of these send me to a can't connect screen. Could this be a proxy issue? I've never set on up. It's infuriating. Thanks for your help!

Are you connected to the router via ethernet, or WiFi?
