Tried starting my computer today and my mouse and keyboard decided to not work. On startup they are both completely dead and unusable no lights coming on. Things I've tried.

Restart/ leave unplugged for 5 minutes.
Take out know battery.
Try new keyboard and mouse, the mouse light comes on for a second then stops, the keyboard light stays on but is still inactive.
Also tried different usb ports but that doesn't seem to be the issue sin e my microphone light still comes on with all of them.

Computer was running fine yesterday if anyone knows fix would be greatly appreciated!

Not quite sure what the ps would be and how to check the voltage? can i do it through Bios? thanks for the support so far unplugging everything ha allowed me to use the keyboard and mouse sometimes through the begining of startup, now i can get into bios but every time i try to start up past tht and windows activates they become inactive again and the lights go out. I also try to boot through safe mode which i can get to but right after i click F8 and get into the menu to be able to select anything mouse and keyboard become inactive.

PS=power supply. The reason I mention it, is as your computer starts up it draws more and more power as things become activated...and on a bad supply, this will draw the voltage down too low and you get what you're getting.

Some BIOSes let you see the voltages...and some don't. Usually you will see voltages around 12, 5, 3.3 and some others.

You could either diagnose it with the BIOS if it lets you, or use a multimeter (there are probably instructions on the internet for this) or just buy a supply and swap it out.

Don't think it's the ps because the entire time I'm in bios the keyboard and mouse are active only on windows startup but I wouldn't know for sure, it's also pretty new but wouldn't be surprised if a power out could've affected it. The voltages I see here in bios are

Vccin voltage 1.776v
Cpu core 1.056v
Cpu rising voltage 1.112v
Cpu SA Voltage 0.880v
Cpu io analog voltage 1.016v
Dram voltage 1.504v

Some of those were shifting by a few poonts. I also am thinking of buying a usb to ps2 adapter for the keyboard and seeing if I would work then so I could attempt to repair or use safe restart
