Hello folks. I'm trying to inject an asus m.2 card into pcie bus, but an *black square* is in the way.

Is it safe to reduce the size of the square without destroying the card. My primary X99 Deluxe is faulty and is soon to be send for repair. I currently have Samsung 850 as primary drive and want to see if M.2 SSD (Samsung 960 EVO) can increase speed further.

850 Speed: 250 MB +/-

Solution
Compatible Models for HYPER M.2 X4 MINI CARD:

Support ASUS Z170/H170/X99/Z97/H97/B85 series motherboard models
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboard-Accessory/HYPER_M2_X4_MINI_CARD/specifications/

Your current motherboard also does not support NVMe storage. You would need some third-party modification to support NVMe storage.

There is few more:

I'm trying to place usb 3.1 card in the lower white bus. Again the *square* prevents me to place it correctly.
