I have an older 32 bit home brew desktop (circa 2005-2006) running XP with all the updates. I keep it around because my old version of AutoCad won't run on Windows 10 - it works great for that but I'd also like to use it for some basic video editing (whatever free software I can find!). Problem is: my video card (3DForceMX-32) doesn't have the guts for video work - it tries with Movie Maker but just can't handle it. I need suggestions for an update for this card that will do what I need it to do. I'm fine with buying old and used from Ebay. Power supply is 400w so I think I'm good there. Chip is AMD - I'll have to wait until later to find out what it is.

CPU is old AMD Athlon XP2000+ 1.67 GHz, 1 GB Ram - it's an oldie but serves my purpose.
Don't need the latest and greatest - just something that will function

Thanks for the help!!

Merry Christmas.

I have a working ATI Radeon X800 GTO AGP card.

This is more than enough for Autocad or pretty much anything from the AGP era. Even games.

PM me your mailing address, I am in Canada, I will ship this card to you free as a Christmas gift, no charge, if you promise you will use it. The card supports VGA and DVI outputs.

Yeah, I thought it was super nice of him. I've got a newer HP Slimline for home use but the video card sucks and the computer can' t be upgraded. That old home brew just keeps on chugging - I used it to run AutoCad and computing software for my land surveying business before I retired.
