This is a brand new WD Caviar Blue 1TB HDD that just won't be recognized. It does show up in the BIOS correctly, but nowhere else in the computer does it show up, and that includes Disk Management and Device Manager. It's not set on RAID or anything, by the way. No other software can pick it up either, be it Recuva or whatnot. I am pretty positive it is not the Motherboard since this is actually replacing the previous Seagate Pipeline HDD (that died within 2 years) and I had no headaches setting that one up. At this point I'm probably going to get a replacement, but I'd like to get a second opinion as well.

I have tried changing SATA cables and ports, resetting BIOS and updating drivers, but no dice.

I appreciate your attention!

I am in utter disbelief that this actually worked. Yes, I ran this program and it detected the Drive to my utmost surprise. I did a quick test and everything, it apparently was fine. I just had Data LifeGuard do a quick erase on it, and it then promptly showed up in the Disk Management.

Thank you very much cute dog, you have just salvaged a very shitty week for me!
