If you can mount it on your new motherboard, it should work just fine.

You should contact CoolerMaster. They may have a free AM4 kit that they will send you. That will ensure that your cooler is mounted correctly.

Well.. the motherboard is am4 and the cooler is am3+, I don't have them here yet so I'm not sure

I think you should've have got though ryzen 1700 it comes with cooler and you could have overclocked and got the same performance as ryzen 1700x. Ryzen 1700 comes with a good cooler.

Without an AM4 kit, you probably can't reuse it. If shipping time is a problem, you should buy a new cooler and try to sell your existing one with whatever it is attached to now.
