I've reapplied thermal paste which lowered the temperature by quite a lot but it's still high. 35C idle, 70C in Battlefield 4 and 80C in Battlefield 1. Is it possible that my CPU has gotten electrical resistant and is always gonna have high temperature despite perfectly applied thermal paste and a good cooler?

Solution
2600k with stock hsf according to the other thread. Those temps are normal for the stock cooler and they are perfectly safe. You can always get a cheap $30 cooler and drop that down to 50c max. But the answer would be: that's not possible.

Thanks for the answers. With "electrical resistant" I meant that my CPU would need more electricity to function and therefore get warmer but I guess that's not a thing. I've been told the stock cooler is not very good but I couldn't imagine it being that bad. I'm probably gonna buy a new cooler then and see how it goes.
