What should I upgrade for best results and any idea whats causing these issues?

Hello all, I am considering upgrading some of my components. What would you recommend I upgrade to improve gaming? I do have a couple issues that are impacting my game play. One major issue is that my PC randomly shuts off without warning. Most likely an issue caused by overheating so I will invest in some new fans soon if there are any other reasons this could be happening I would appreciate some guidance. As for my second issue is that I have crossfired GPUs but it seems that one of them is not being utilized. I do plan on buying a new GPU if the issue persists and/or I would get more out of my PC by upgrading it. Thanks in advanced!

Motherboard - X99A GAMING PRO CARBON
Graphics - XFX Radeon RX 480 (Crossfired)
CPU - i7-5820k 3.30GHz
Storage - Samsung 850 EVO 1TB
RAM - G.SKILL Ripjaws4 (16g)
PSU - Corsair CX750

I have a similar setup but with a i7 5860x and a gtx 1080. No issues so far and I run games like PUBG and media server like Plex together. What I did was make sure you update any drivers, I'm lazy so I used Driver booster to do it for me. Another problem you might have is crossfire. I would do a proper cleaning and updating of your drivers before you think it's your gpus.

It is grey, and Im going to disable crossfire from the radeon settings and see if that does anything.
