I have asus maximus ix hero, i7-7700k with noctua nh-d15 and strix 1080.
In my bios setting the cpu core volt. is 1.114v (default), I change it to 1.320v straightforward without trying any other voltage input. Its seems fine so far, its running at 30c without running anything and around 50-60c when play games. I tested it with IntelBurnTest and prime95 without getting errors. My question is, do i have made a good choice to changed it straightforward without trying anything else or should have I changed it just a little bit above the default voltage ? Do i have a better temps if i change it to smaller voltage than 1.320v?
BTW I'm noob about overclock, I have never overclocked before and all bios settings is by following instructions of a youtube video.

You very well might have hit the nail on the head with your initial guess to put it up to 1.32v. It would be the exception, but not the rule... :) I would say if you are stable and your temps are good, let it ride. If you want to test 1.31 you could, but I don't think it would make a huge difference...

I changed the voltage to 1.300v and got blue screen for first time in my new pc :( Now i changed it back to 1.320v and its seems stable for now.

For some strange reason when i changed it back to 1.320v, its not like before I got blue screen, I played cod wwii with 50-60 less fps. Its possible the blue screen to damage my pc ?

ok now i changed it back to 1.320v because i tried 1.310v,1.315v and got blue screen. The problem now its not like before I got blue screen (5 total), I run a game with less fps and my cpu is 5v increased. :( Its possible to damage my pc ?

I reset cmos and I configure again my bios oc setting and now its worse, its increased from 35v to 40v... because i forget to put input 2 to AVX and got one bluescreen I dont know what happens ... :( maybe its not my day and its better to keep it without any overclock. I should have left it from begging to 1.320v without make any changes after... Did make any changed if i reinstalled the windows ? btw my pc is new (2 days used). BTW I forget to say, when i running any benchmark program to test it (like cine bench and intelBurnTest), the voltage goes to 80-90v it that normal?
Thank you for your answers and patience (with me:p) so far.
EDIT: Now its decreased to 32c ! :) maybe its need time to be stable ?

I have the same CPU, i7-7700K and NH-D15S. My mobo is different, lesser quality. Plus CPUs can differ widely on amount of voltage required for them. Also, I've never used IntelBurnTest. I use Prime95 mostly and sometimes AIDA64. Prime95 Small FFT's for 20+mins is what I consider stable.

I ended up delidding mine and applying liquid metal. Before 4.9GHz 1.35V gave me around 87C+ after a few minutes of Prime95. Now it gives 67C.

I'm not sure what you mean by 80-90v.

by running stress test programs like IntelBurnTest and prime95 it gave me 80-90v

Yes sorry my mistake , i mean 80-90c on temp of the cpu, is that normal?

Ok thank you , only in stress test, the maximum that i get while i played games is 60c
