Hi there. I upgraded from the GTX 970 to the GTX 1070 Aero 8GB OC and everything works fine apart from the audio. Now, when i use a USB audio (speakers or headphones) they work fine, but i cannot get any audio out of my monitor. My monitor output also isn't displaying under the playback tab on the sound menu (ASUS VE247H 24 inch)

I have 4 NVIDIA Outputs to choose from (all of which are coming up as not plugged in) and then there is the Realtek Digital Output which is also coming up as not plugged in. I am not sure what i have done wrong. Do i need to update my sound drivers or something with my monitor?

Also, before I restarted my PC the option for my monitor was there but after the restart it had disappeared

All help is appreciated,
thank you

Enable that.
Also check the Realtek and Asus website and make sure you have the latest audio drivers. Win10CE has had issues with older versions of audio and Lan drivers as there is an issue with the 32/64bit compatability. Pretty much either of those 2x legacy drivers can/will have issues.

Also, if you have the monitor on DVI-D, you'll not get sound, DVI-D is a digital signal basically video only to the monitor, only the HDMI will carry audio. Might explain why the Realtek digital out is disabled.

I just tried this, but only the Realtek Digital Output appears under disabled devices

I just tried everything you told me and it still isn't working. The monitor also blank screens if i turn it onto HDMI, only DVI-D works (the cable is being plugged into the Graphics card by a HDMI cable, but has no signal if i turn it to HDMI)

So gpu hdmi to monitor hdmi (monitor input set for hdmi) with a hdmi cable doesn't work? Even with just the older 970 drivers loaded it should, nvidia core drivers are the same and win10 has hdmi support included.

Hmm that's odd. But thats the issue. Hdmi has sound capability to the monitor, dvi-d doesn't. You won't get sound until you get hdmi working.

I tried a workaround that happened to actually work. Seeing as the 970 has two display ports, and the 1070 only has one with 3 HDMI's, I still had my DVI cable attached like previously with the old card.
So what i did was that the HDMI cable is now coming out from the cards input and into my 1 monitor, with the other connector coming out from the card with the HDMI in the 2 monitor. Weird, but it works.

Thanks for the help, guys!
