So since a couple of weeks my pc is starting to freeze sometimes. It happens at idle and load. Somtimes it would freeze after 5 minutes, sometimes it wouldn't freeze a whole night. When it freezes and i press Num Lock, they num lock light doesn't turn on or off. About 1 month ago i bought a 2nd hand gtx 960, but the problem did only start about 2 weeks ago.

Things i tried:
-microsoft memory diag. No errors.
-Updated al drivers
-Clocked my cpu to 4,1ghz instead of 4,2 (it has been stable for the last 4 months in 4,2 no extra voltage)
-checked if all fans spinned.
-checked temps, cpu doesnt even hit 45 c in load

My specs:
Msi 970 gaming motherboard
Fx-6300 at 4,1 stock voltage
8gb of hyperx red ddr3 ram
Msi Gaming gtx 960 2gb
Corsair rm1000
Samsung 840 evo 128gb + regular 500gb hdd

If someone has any idea, feel free to help :D
Thanks in advance!

Psu is a corsair rm1000, and with freeze i mean my pc just does nothing. No sound and everything freezes. I have to shut it down by pressing the power button. Both my storages have enough room left.

Haven't tried that yet, might be worth checking out. I'll check that first and if it is still doing the same things i'll clear the CMOS. Thanks! If other people got ideas, bring them out too because this is really annoying me :F

Hi
I was trying to spot the exact same problem for months and finally i did only when i replaced CPU with a new one.
I have the same CPU as yours...
So, Don`t waste your time with useless memory or hard disk or vga tests, is none of those but your FX6300 which is dying.

One note: my 4 years CPU has been overclocked in the past, up to 4,6 and 4,8GHz , this shorten it`s life.

Unfortunately you have a partially damaged CPU and you can solve your problem only by replacing it.
