I have a Western Digital My Book Live attached to my network switch. If I open up my browser and type in the IP address I can access the settings for it. I can also see it under Network>Storage and Network>Computer or access it from going to www.wd2go.com. I am not able to access my mounted folder. I get the error "The network path was not found."

When I click on Network>Computer>MyBook I get the error Windows cannot access \\MYBOOK so I click diagnose. It then tells me "The remote device or resource won't accept the connection." I then click view detailed information and under that previous statement it says The device or resource (MYBOOK) is not set up to accept connections on port "The File and printer sharing (SMB)".

I have searched and searched the internet and tried every fix I have found but have not got it working. It has been working fine for years until recently and I can not figure out what to do to be able to use my drive again.

I have uninstalled\reinstalled my network adapter drivers, confirmed file sharing is one under sharing options, reset network settings, gone into my network adapter properties and confirmed that TCP/IPv4 is checked and also went into those advanced properties>WINS> changed NetBIOS setting from default to enable. None of that worked.

If I open command prompt I can ping the drive by both name and IP address.

Does anyone have any ideas?

1. This is a VERY active forum.
2. You put it in the wrong forum. This really should go in Storage (where I'm moving it to)

I would look into one of two options:

1. The NAS or specific folder has not granted permissions to your Windows user.

2. Your Windows networking settings recently changed. This sometimes happen after the semi-annual large Windows 10 Update.

Unfortunately I don't know what the last thing was that happened before it stopped working. It's been out of the loop for awhile and I try finding a fix, give up for a while because nothing I'm trying is working, and then I try again. This time I decided to ask on a forum to see if anyone else has advice. I am using Windows 10 Pro with Asus PCE-AC68 connected to a Unifi AP. The WD drive is connected via cable to a switch which is the same switch the AP is connected to which are both connected to a Unifi Security Gateway then to the modem. Like I said, the drive is seeing the internet fine and my computer is seeing the drive fine, it just won't let me access it.

Last night I did go through more changes in the system that I found online and now it's telling me this which is a different error message than before.

There's nothing for me to really change in the NAS OS other than changing from dynamic to static IP which I have tried. I went to the network sharing center and disabled all sharing, rebooted, turned the sharing back on and rebooted to see if that would trigger a change and that did nothing also.

I also have SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support checked on under windows features. I have deactivated my firewall and antivirus with no luck either.
