I just bought a new PC and tried to put in my old HDD and in the process of trying to put it in the plastic above the connector of the sata port broke off and now i cant connect it. I want to atleast move over the data on it to my new 2TB HDD. Can someone help me out?

Ha, my Windows HDD in my desktop has the exact same "problem" been that way for years, never been an issue. Anyways, my fix was to leave the plastic tab inside the SATA cable and then carefully slide the SATA cable end with the plastic tab on it back over the pins. Do yourself a favor and gently straighten all the pins so they're all level with one another. Just be gentle. If you look in the end of the SATA cable with the tab lodged in it, you can see the grooves on the tab where the pins are supposed to go.
