Thanks for helping in advance.
Quick summary:
- My iphone 6 was stolen yesterday,
- 'Find My iPhone' was enabled prior to this incident
- Enabled 'LOST MODE' afterwards.

So, I was told that when the phone gets turned on and connected to internet, I can track the location of the phone. I can also send message that will appear on the display as well.

How much chance do I have in tracking the phone and eventually recovering it? I think that if it went to some kid's hands, In case, the thief is tech-savvy, can he disable the mode and make it un-trackable completely?

While you might be able to find its location, how are you actually going to get it back?

Go there and confront the thief? That may not end well.
Or, you may encounter the person that bought it from the thief. Again, might be a messy ending.

Basically you've black listed it, the parts are useful but the motherboard and home button have to be thrown out.

The chances of recovery are about .01% . Blacklisted iphone 6 sell on ebay fairly cheap. They are sold for transplants of bent phones where the motherboard and home button are transplanted.
