Hey everyone, happy holidays!

I had a question, I'm putting together a PC build and was wondering if I can use my current hard drive in a new build.

I am aware Windows 10 will not boot, and I will lose everything. I'm fine with that, I just want to re use this drive because it is perfectly fine, but I am unsure if it will work. If I wipe it completely, and put it in the rig will it work? Any information will be greatly appreciated! Thank you and happy holidays!

ya you can. i do it with drives in the last 10 years or so. as long as it has a high cache. my suggestion is dont use fragment and format programs from within windows. i havent done this with windows 10 yet but it works with win7. do some research on DOS programs and syntax inputs. theres a way you can boot to safe mode outside of winshell in a pure DOS environment. enter the syntax to format and convert to bootable drive. does a much better job than apps within the windows GUI which can leave redundant user directories. like i said do some research and you can do a better job then windows. good luck.
