No ringtone on my BT8600 landline phone

Hi, one of my phones has no ringtone, checked cables they’re ok. It’s a BT8600 landline, I can phone out and it rings the other end but I hear nothing in reply.

More information needed. At the moment it seems like the volume is down/muted on the phone. Do you get a dial tone? Can you hear the recipient after they pick up? Only one of your phones does this? Do you have more of the same model that function correctly?

Thanks for your answer, the phone was completely dead but it’s partner worked, checked them both and the answer phone that comes with the set but could find no solution, then I accidentally drop the faulty one and it worked. It’s been ok ever since.
