I just bought a Lenovo ideapad, 15.6" 320, with AMD A12. It came with 8gb of RAM - 4gb DDR4, and 4gb 'soldered.'The specs say it supports 16gb of RAM. How will it support 16gb of RAM, if 4gb are soldered in? What would you do to increase from 8gb? Thanks.

If the 4GB are soldered, you can tray putting an 8GB stick and you have 12GB, i think that the 16GB are only theoretical, and are only possible if the laptop came with 8GB soldered.

And I don't know if it will work well with one 8GB stick, it may raise some problems.

What does the user manual say about adding RAM?
