Hello.

I've been writing here a few times about the problems I have with this PC but it now seems to have escalated. I really don't know what to do anymore.

It randomly shuts down as if I pulled the power cable out. It could be idle or I'm watching a movie or I'm gaming for few hours full use GPU/CPU doesn't matter. It just shuts down for no reason.

Sometimes it works for weeks without shutting down, I turn it off when I go to sleep, sometimes I don't and it just works.

This is happening for a few months now and I'm losing my mind over it.
Last few days things have changed drastically.

So here's how it goes:

- I could be gaming for hours new titles full resources no problem it doesn't shut down
- It's idle it just shuts down

Symptoms:

-Turns off I just press the power on button it works normally (sometimes for days)
-Turns off I press the button it starts for like a second(lights on fans spinning everything normal) and immediately stops. I press again same thing happens; I press again it starts working normally(sometimes for hours/days depends)
-Turns off I press the button 10 times nothing happens 11th time it starts for like 20 seconds and shuts down. I press again it starts working (sometimes for days)

Last few days things changed dramatically.

It works for like few days but the moment it shuts down I know I'm in trouble. There's no way to turn it on again. Each time I press the button it starts for a few seconds and shuts down. Every time different amount of seconds. Sometimes goes to BIOS then shuts down, sometimes immediately, sometimes starts loading windows then shuts, sometimes loads windows and after like a minute shuts down.
Sometimes pulling the power cable out for a minute fixes it and sometimes it doesn't change anything.

Things I've tried and monitored:

-Temps. are below average while gaming 65CPU/60GPU
-Clocks are all default; I've ran CPU/GPU stress test on this rig for hours nothing shuts it down.
-All parts are more or less new

And today was special. It turned off mid Skype call and there was no way to turn it on. It starts for a second and shuts down no matter how many times I press the power on button.

I've spent literally 7 hours today trying all the different things and nothing worked.

Here's the things I tried today:

-Clearing CMOS/ booting with/without it -shuts down
-Without HDDS/SDDS and optional cables (sata front usb audio everything out) -shuts down
-Without GPU/RAM - shuts down
-Each RAM stick individually - shuts down
-Different GPU - shuts down
-Different networks cards/hdds/sdds/psu cables/electrical outlets - shuts down
-Booting with only Mobo/CPU/RAM/GPU - shuts down
-Didn't try changing the PSU as I bought it new few months ago

After all this mess I even forgot what I've done and finally I've put all the original parts back in and put my RAM sticks in the 2nd and 4th slot (they've been in 1&3) and it suddenly turns on for some reason and here I am writing this thread. I'm saving this as I'm writing as I expect it to shut down again.

I did the userbenchmark test few mins ago and it all looks normal.

This all started happening few months ago when I changed to a new case. I might have damaged something ? Maybe my mobo is faulty ?

Sorry for the wall of text but it's a complicated problem to explain and I have noone else to turn to about it.

I don't want to take it to the service as they always try to hype up the problem so you have to buy a new part from them.

I would really appreciate any inputs or help because I'm lost as to what to do anymore.

Anyhow, thanks in advance and here's the rig.

update: it shut down again twice just as i finished writing this

maybe you can try installing a fresh new windows and go to the ASROck motherboard site to download and install all their latest drivers. this could just be a driver thing. and get the latest version for your BIOS as well. if that still doesnt work, try checking your CPU socket pins in your motherboard. Bent socket pins usually cause all these "random issues" that popup after days or weeks of assembling your PC. If there are some, then you'll need to re-align them carefully and re-apply your thermal paste to put all your hardware back together again and see if it works fine now.
