Hello first time ive rebuilt my PC in 10 years currently AMD phenom 2 940x 3ghz. DDR 2 1066 memory( yes i know) I changed vid cards every 2-3 years.. i think or KNOW CPU /Ram hugely bottle-necking me.. not to make amd/intel fan war.. looking for 1080p 60hz gaming build. Currently have a Nvidia 970 4gb SSC plan to upgrade vid card and monitor to 144hz next year.. this year focused on my main CPU build. No real mutlitasking besides web browsing, social media and stream time to time. Looking to also if possible future proof since ive had this cpu for bout 10 years.. looking to do the same 5 yrs plus your advice would be appreciated, not really want to OC the CPU much but ram to get near 3000hz speeds :). here is current builds im looking at .[PCPartPicker part list](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gBcW2R) / [Price breakdown by merchant](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gBcW2R/by_merchant/) Keeping 970 4gb video card for now since heard still decent :D

here is an i5-8400 build example for just 20$ more than your ryzen 1600 build. as a bonus, i added great PSU.
not sure why you buying windows if you probably can reuse existing license. also, these days, Windows come on USB :p

CPU: Intel - Core i5-8400 2.8GHz 6-Core Processor ($199.89 @ B&H)
Motherboard: ASRock - Z370M Pro4 Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($101.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: Team - Dark 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($169.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($84.99 @ B&H)
Storage: Seagate - Barracuda 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($78.89 @ OutletPC)
Case: DIYPC - DIY-TG8-BR ATX Mid Tower...
if you are going to buy 144Hz monitor, intel would be better choice.
even the cheapest i5-8400 will do better in gaming than any ryzen with any overclock.
If you want a system that will last many years, i7 is the way to go. Yes it's kinda more expensive, but it's the one that works. The overclockable parts like i7-8700K can do 5+ years.
In MMO and RPG games you rarely need high FPS, so the ryzen 1600 will do the job.
Which way to go is up to you.
As for the current list, there are some strange choices like:
1. extremely simple MB
2. basic PSU
3. expensive RAM
4. expensive SSD
5. are you sure you need an optical drive in 2018?

This is just a rough draft of estimate want to budget myself under 1000$. The gen 8 i5 i7 are out of my ballpark fro cpu/mbo IMO.. I plan on not very much overclock at all except ram speed, turbo frequency obviously video card, if i go ryzen.. for budget was 1600 but i know i7 7700k is better for what I would use it for just worried bout down the line more core threads.. as they already use more threads ive heard bf1 pubg etc.. I also dont plan to SLI just 1 vid card 2 storage drive nothin fancy,. and still like to have an cd drive for windows etc ( i know im stuck back in 2008) :p. Looked for budget PSU/mobo that will help when i do upgrade to a 1060- 1080 n years time. Like i said just rough list for now...
