Gpu clock speed higher better?

I am considering to buy an Asus rog Strix Gtx 1060 6gb or Gtx 1070 8gb, but I saw the boost clock of Gtx 1060 is higher than Gtx 1070. So which is better?

The 1070 is between 25% to 35% faster than a 1060. The 1060 having higher clock speed is irrelevant when the 1070 has 33% more cores, 25% more memory bandwidth, more memory, etc.

Higher clock speed is only better when directly comparing the same product (one GTX 1060 vs another GTX 1060).
