GTX 750 Ti now unplayable on GTA V

My EVGA GTX 750 Ti SC used to be able to function properly in GTA V a year ago. It has now become unplayable and dropping to below 30 fps on occasions (this is when playing online AND offline). I have not replaced any parts in my PC and have had to lower the graphics settings. However, the game still is unplayable and I have been wondering whether the fact that there has been many updates which have increased workload on GPU's and have made a big difference over the years of the game's release. Does anyone know if there is a solution to this problem? Thanks
