Hi guys. My system specs are:

Cpu : core 2 duo e7400

Ram:4 gb ddr2 800mhz.

Mobo: asrock g31-vs

Now i want to buy gt 710 gpu. Is this gpu compatible with my ddr2 ram mobo? Also thre is a 2gb gddr3 version and a gddr5 version of this gt 710 gpu. Which one to choose?

I dont want to play any high end games. Just for smooth 1080p hotstar, netflix and YouTube streaming and normal games.

Ps: i have a 1366x768 dell monitor.

A GT 710 should be perfect for you. The type of system ram you use has no effect on the kind of videocard you can use. I wouldn't waste money on the DDR5 version, since gaming is not your planned use. Just to remind you, the GT 710 is NOT a gaming card. So outside of playing 2d games or games like Solitaire or Freecell, don't buy this card with any gaming in mind.

If you do intend to play some games, then you want the DDR5 version of a GT 730. That card can run the sort of games your dual core CPU can handle, and 1366x768 is right on the edge of the top resolution it can handle.
