Merry Christmas all! Hope this is in the right section.

Looking to buy a laptop with the budget being 700 pounds max.
(maybe even nab one in the sales) It's for casual gaming like sims and some basic games like micro machines etc while on the move and not using my desktop pc. I'm honestly a bit stumped as i've seen a lot pop up with gtx 940mx/gtx950ms and 1050s for all around the same price. I know the 1050 is the best option but the ones with 1050s in are usually paired with a pretty crappy processor. Any advice or links you could throw my way would be much appreciated!

Have been looking at these two but i'm not too sure which is better for the same price:

Get the asus no contest. It has one of the best mobile cpu's you can get atm in it whilst still having a 1050.

I have a gaming desktop already that I built myself but this is for my girlfriend who doesn’t have the space for a desktop and is always on the move :) I’m also going to be using it when I’m at her house.

Like i said i don't recommend it but theres nothing wrong having a gaming laptop, so yeah thats fine bud :)

It will make a difference in big AAA games but then the 1050 will just hold you back and not be able to fill that 4gb of vram anyways. Lowering the texture resolution will prevent you from have a lot of problems with running out of vram.
