Before I had 2 8gb ddr3 rams with the same brand but different clockspeeds and it ended up having a problem because according to my supplier I can't mix two different rams specifically different clockspeeds. I decided to replace the slower one but I only managed to buy a 4gb ddr3 ram with the same clockspeed. So now I'm having an 8gb and 4gb ddr3 ram. Won't I have the same problem that I have before due to having different rams? Should I also consider having the same gb?

Solution
Mixing RAMs not bought as a kit is always problematic. It may work or not. Size is not a factor here - other that you limit dual channel to the size of smaller stick. But nobody can tell before hand if that mix will work or not. Only way is to try it.
