Yesterday I bought a open box i5 7600k from micro center. It was $140 with a 15 day return policy. I am buying parts for a new build and don't yet have the compatible ram so I can't test it yet (I can test it later in the week at a friend house). I decided to inspect it to see the condition of the cpu. It has residue of thermal paste on it which isn't a good sign. That was concerning to me. I looked even further and found some on the back as well. I don't know if it will even work at this point. It is more convenient for me to return the part asap. So I was wondering if you guys could look at the pictures and tell me if it will work or not and how to get the thermal paste off of it. I have a link to the pictures of the cpu below. Thanks!
