Hey Guys,

I've been trying a whole bunch of fixes I see online, nothing is working!

Basically, yesterday I plugged in my Hyper X gaming headset and it wasnt working... I then accidentally clicked disable and it removed it from my sound list. Now I can't use my mic?? I even re-installed all sound drivers and still doesn't work! I click 'Show disabled devices' on my list, and everything seems OK, even in my recording devices, my microphone is connected as it should...

Then I thought, maybe my mic is just not working anymore....I connected my blue snowball and it doesnt work either?? Before I was able to use it by simply plugging it in and using!

I'm not sure what to do now guys...I do a lot of gaming and really need my mic, this is a brand new PC also, would hate that I could never voicechat on it.

On your "Recording Devices" panel (right click volume thingy in the lower right and choose it...), is the mic you're connecting set as default device? It could be that Windows set something else as default when you removed your original device.

Hey there,

Yep I saw that as one of the solutions online...under the Recording tab I have three devices 'Microphone', 'Line in' and 'Sterio Mix', Microphone is the one which has always been set as default. I have enabled 'Show disabled devices' so these are all that are available to me.

Im really not sure on this issue dude, I remember whenever I used to connect to my blue snowball mic it even displayed 'Blue snowball' in the playback / recording tab (cant remember which), I cannot see it anywhere now. And its all connected perfectly fine. I thought my first mic that I tested was broken, but when I plugged in the blue snowball and even that doesn't work, theres defo somehting not right here :-/
