GTX 1080 GPU usage low

I have really low usage on my GTX 1080 sometimes only pushing 25% in DayZ Standalone but I have friends with similar builds who get way better performance and more usage. In BF1 where its getting 70-80 usage. Now I only have 1 stick of 16GB 2400 DDR4 ram could that be whats stopping it?

My build:
i7 6700k @4.5ghz
GIGABYTE GAMING 7 motherboard z170
1 stick 16GB DDR4 2400 Ram
120GB SSD+1TB
MSI GTX 1080 GAMING X PLUS

Pottsy0 A single memory DIMM on a dual channel motherboard, would not be my first thought. While gaming in DayZ, check CPU temps and usage with HWMonitor. Your i7-6700K has a base clock of 4.0 GHz, and you have it overclocked to 4.5; what CPU cooler are you using? Also, are you certain that VSYNC or any FPS limiter is not enabled in the game options? While you're at it, could you take at least two pictures of the inside of your build, upload to imgur and share the links with us. One last thing: What is your PSU's manufacturer and model number?

Yeah, you are losing a lot of performance with the ram not running in dual channel.

Could be up to 30% or more. and your ram is slow.... DDR4 2400..

And now for the really bad news...

It's very likely that 16GB stick won't work with another since they aren't part of a dual channel kit as in matched pair.

The rest of the system is fine, just get a dual channel kit 8GB x2 DDR4 3000 or higher and you will be fine.

You can sell the 16GB stick you have.
