Hi guys.. I have a question and im really confused. Right now in my computer i have 4 gb of ram. i want to upgrade to 8 gbs.

right now i have 1 4gb stick on kingston ram..

heres the model number..

KVR21N15S8/4

and link to it on amazon.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01M4MIU94/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&psc=1

I looked around and saw a new version of this, and for cheaper, and i want to get it.

heres the model number

(KVR24N17S6/4)

and link to it on amazon.

https://www.amazon.ca/Kingston-ValueRAM-1x4GB-2400MHz-KVR24N17S6/dp/B076Q5KBFC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1514342521&sr=8-2&keywords=kingston+4gb+ddr4

Im wondering if i put this new stick in my computer will they both work since they are different models? and will i have 8gb? and will my computer run better too?

im just getting into computers and im overwhelmed, and i dont know any of this. please let me know. Thanks :)!

Your 1st link is to a GTX 1050.

Yes the ram will work together but they will run at the lower speed ram at 2133mhz. Not a big deal as they're close speedwise.

As you only had 4gb ram originally I am concerned you might only have a 32bit OS. If that is the case you will not benefit from having 8gb of ram as a 32bit OS can't access more than 4gb. You should check you are running a 64bit OS before adding the memory.

https://www.amazon.ca/Kingston-ValueRAM-288-Pin-Desktop-KVR21N15S8/dp/B00WUPU0O4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1514342645&sr=8-1&keywords=KVR21N15S8%2F4

and my os is a 64 bit. i built my computer myself on a budget. i have an intel pentium g4400, 4gb kingston ram, gtx 645, and an asus mobo.

and will i see a difference when i upgrade from 4gb to 8gb. and i just want to make sure it works before i lose all my money.
