I just switched from an old fx 6350 to a new ryzen 1600x, new motherboard is a gigabyte ab350m gaming 3. The pc starts up fine (all fans running all lights on) but I get no signal detected (yes I have tried all possible options for the inputs and an hdmi cable and dvi) and the keyboard and mouse also don't light up. *i haven't actually put my new ddr4 ram inside as I'm still waiting for it in the mail*

My question is, am I getting no signal to my monitor and my keyboard/mouse because I have not yet installed the ram or is there other things I should look in to while im waiting. Thanks for any responses!

In order for your computer to successfully boot you need to be able to run BIOS. BIOS requires RAM because its software. No RAM no computer.

Your computer will not boot without your RAM properly installed.

Okay, but I'm just confused because the computer itself turns on and the graphics card fan spins along with all the other fans in the case but no signal is detected on the monitor and the mouse and keyboard do not turn on, this is normal when not having your ram installed?
