I'm looking for the best Productivity Build (video editing etc) and am debating between Ryzen 7 1700X vs Core i7 8700k. I'm not really into any serious gaming yet but would like something that allows me to get into at a later stage as I won't be building anything again for some time. I have a 4K 27" monitor.
It seems like the 1700X is great value but its bothersome that I I will need to add a graphic card separately which brings it to the same price range as the 8700K. I like that intel supports the 4K display out of the gate. What is a budget graphic card which can get the Ryzen to display 4K? I also would rather not deal with an additional cooling unit so also contemplating the R7 1700 vs the i7 8700 which are also available at $20-30 cheaper than the OC versions. Would love thoughts

Look at the Ryzen 7 1700 instead of the 1700X, since you get the Wraith Spire cooler with the 1700 (and no cooler with the 1700X).

The Intel i7-8700K is $100 more than the Ryzen 7 1700 and the motherboards are more money too.

It is true, the Intel integrated graphics are very convenient. I am not an expert with video editing so can't comment on its capability there.

You can go with the GTX 1050. It also appears that the Radeon RX 550 does 4K output and far exceeds Intel's integrated graphics (for less money than the GTX 1050).

If you’re only editing photos and videos and not gaming at all then the Ryzen system would suit you best. It’s cheaper and the AM4 socket will be AMD’s socket for the next 3-4 years. Intel keeps changing the pin out for their processors requiring a new board every time you want to upgrade your chip.

For the GPU, you would be better off with an AMD chip and something like a GTX 1050 or 1050ti as they both output 4K displays. They far outperform Intel’s integrated graphics and will actually help you while editing.
