Specs:
Intel i7 7700k CPU with fan and paste
GTX 970 Ti
Corsair 750TX 750 watt PSU
Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI
8GB critical RAM (Single stick) DDR4
500GB HDD
500gb Samsung SSD

So I got a new CPU and as such needed a new motherboard, put everything together in my tower and powered it up. The computer turns on for 5 or so seconds then shuts off, then turns itself back on. I've reseated everything multiple times, theres no beeps, every cable is properly attached (the CPU power cable especially), I've put the RAM stick in every slot, i've tried shorting the CMOS twice, I've removed the reset button power cable in case that was shorting and resetting

I doubt its the PSU as it is 750 watt and was being used yesterday, if anyone has any ideas please help, I'm all out of ideas

the new pieces are the mobo, RAM and CPU, everything else was confirmed working yesterday

Solution
you will need a 6th gen intel to flash support for the 7xxx chips. if you have access to one you can use it to flash support for the CPU.

no it it wll need to be a skylake chip, a 6xxx CPU ( i3 6100 or an i5 6400 for example) or one of the skylake based pentiums like the G4400.

the 2600 is a 2nd generation CPU and has a different socket and memory controller than the skylake and kaby lake CPU's (6xxx-7xxx)
