After having downloaded, and extracted the EasyLock software into my Sony Flash Drive 3.0 USB of 4GB, that I bought in 2013, the utility program file cannot be opened! Therefore this encryption program called EasyLock cannot be used because of an error message that says, Please copy EasyLock in the root of your Micro Vault and run it from there; and that is what I have done since the program has been extracted into the Sony flash drive that I have gone through the process, and to several Sony web sites, as well; and have had no success. I even formatted the Sony 4GB 3.0 USB Flash Drive! I have gone through this process carefully, and exactly for over two dozen times. Furthermore, I have gone through the Compatibility program of Microsoft such as Windows 7, and 8, but with no viable result. My Acer V3 laptop computer (of 2013) has a 3.0 USB port, and is operating on Windows 10. Furthermore, I have scanned with anti-malware programs, and an anti-spyware programs; and there does not appear to be any problems. I have also asked for help on the Technical Support web site, and I was directed back to the same web site to download EasyLock, that cannot be unlocked! Thank you for any advice and tips.

Sincerely,

By "unlocked" I express it as a pun. The EasyLock program that has been downloaded, and extracted into the Sony 4GB flash drive 3.0 USB, cannot be opened. It is installed, it was extracted from a temporary folder of the system into the flash drive, so it was installed, and yes, the EasyLock utility program cannot run; as you asked. Thanks for your response, rgd1101.

Anyhow, whatever I've done, EasyLock cannot be opened so that I can run the program; whereby I have read from the Sony web site that a password is entered, and any data, and pictures are protected very well. In theory, your data, and pictures are protected completely.

Model number is USM4GU; therefore, it is the USM-U series. It is the flash drive 3.0 USB, 4GB capacity, that pops out like a ball point pen to open the connector so that it is inserted into the port of computer; and when you press the end it retracts into its shell.

Also, the next step after I click on the download command button for EasyLock;
https://screenshots.firefox.com/5rSeB87AtTEMPP3r/webform.secure.force.com
Then I click on Next at the bottom of the web page,
https://screenshots.firefox.com/lh5DrcVWdKkNf7m2/webform.secure.force.com,
Then I click on OK command;
https://screenshots.firefox.com/MpLzOrA1zoUFJsJI/screenshots.firefox.com,
At final web page for Download of the EasyLock software, for in my case it is USM-U series, I suppose, it is:
https://screenshots.firefox.com/UEWGZ9A1P1iFsJZm/webform.secure.force.com,
Then it goes into my name folder>AppData> Local> Temp> Easy_Lock, whereby I click the command to extract the EasyLock folder (from the Extract tab of the ribbon of Windows 10), Extract All;
The Extract Compressed (Zipped) Folder dialog box appears, I click into the Browse to text box, choose J: Drive; SONY_4GU (J:), then I click on the Extract button,
Then I made a folder called Second EasyLock Folder, because there is an original folder in the Sony flash drive already. I continue to click, and open; then eventually double click the EasyLock folder.
Then this message appears again, for the 25th time, at least; "Error: Please copy EasyLock in the root of your Micro Vault and run it from there."
I did so, and that error message still appears on my screen. EasyLock cannot open. Very annoying, and mysterious since this flash drive is the Sony 4GB Micro Vault; and a very recent flash drive of 3.0 USB.
Thank you for any possible solutions.

Oh, okay, that was Firefox browser, anyway. However, how can I obtain a screenshot from my laptop computer's drives? Anyhow, as I've typed out above, the path seems to be correct. I have this path so far:
"J:\EasyLock"
Then further into the directory paths, from before J: drive, it was from File Explore, then it is My PC; J: drive is the Sony flash drive's letter "J",
Then it was as above, "J:\EasyLock",
Then it goes to:
"J:\EasyLock\EasyLock.exe"
So far the above information of paths, and drive is all I'm aware of that describes the download of EasyLock into my laptop computer, operating on Windows 10.

I can't believe it, it worked! But what I did at this time was to drag the non-extracted files by right-clicking the read, and content files, and moving them directly to the Sony Micro Vault, J: drive from the content pane to the task pane (or is it called the folders, I've forgotten).

Then I opened the zipped files from the Sony 4GB micro vault drive, and to my surprise, the program opened. Then I typed in a password, and reminder for the password, and now it works! Thank you for your help, rgd1101. I am going to give you the benefit of a "solved" rating. However, the Sony corporation did not elaborate on the exact procedure for the complete installation of this encryption software. Again, thank you for your consideration, patience, and instructions, rgd1101. Happy New Year.

Sincerely,
