Hello :)

I have $535 to upgrade my pc. This is the first time I build a pc on my own. I need some help on things like what parts fit together and what parts to upgrade. Here is my current setup:

Motherboard: ASUS A88XM-E

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K

RAM: 16,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3

Video Card: ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 ROG Strix Gaming

PSU: Crosshair VS550

Other: I have plenty cooling, I am running Windows 10

I obiously have to upgrade my cpu and therefore my motherboard aswell. I was thinking about going with the AMD Ryzen 5 1600X, but there is also intel and I am not sure what is the best currently. Feel free to ask questions. Any help and suggestions are apreciatet.

Thanks in advance,

- Jonas

Yeah I have to agree with Jwpanz, Go with the Ryzen route, The The Ryzen 5 1600 (non x) is usually a few bucks cheaper and can be overclocked to around the same level on the x version. But you will need DDR4 ram and a motherboard, you would see a massive performance gains cross the board. Also the cooler the Ryzen comes with is not too bad, so if you are on a budget, you can stick with that for awhile.
