Hi, I have a I5 4690K, Gtx 1050Ti, 8gb of DDR3 and a 120gb SSD + 2TB Hardrive. Last night I booted up my PC to play some games with my mates and I kept getting random lag spikes on games I never have before. Games which my PC can run with ease such as Boarderlands 2 never goes below 59fps with Nvidia PhysX on medium. Last night it was sat at 16fps and games like terraria were only hitting 30fps. I have one monitor which is fed by a display port and is 1080p. I windowed boarderlands and opened task manager to which nothing was above 30% and when the game spiked the load would drop from 30% down to 15-18%.

Really annoying and would be nice to know whats wrong as it happened very suddenly and there isn't anything visibly wrong by looking at Task Manager.

Cheers

are you using a third-party auto overclocking software? if so, can you try going into your BIOS to go to reset your overclock to stock speed or simple just load your BIOS optimized defaults. see how your games run now. sometimes your OC software will change something without you knowing it. like a voltage drop here and there. also check your voltage and temps with HWmonitor. and try to find something out of the ordinary while doing a GPU or CPU stress test.
