Okay so I have been having an issue with my computers cooling and heating for a while now, and I can't tell what is standard and what isn't. I have a 7700k and a Corsair H115i for reference, as well as a GTX 980 TI and a Cool Master Cosmos II. That's the general picture of what produces the most heat and what I have that should mitigate cooling. Also I I just got the 7700k and new mobo and RAM not too long ago. About 6 months maybe?

First off I idle at 40-46 degrees however that is with my fan on quiet but I still find it odd. When I am gaming or even have my cpu usage at 25% it hits the mid 70s range sometimes almost 80. I just ran the intelburn test and I hit 90-93c multiple times but it would dip down to the low 70s as well I believe.

So what I wanted to ask is.

1.Are these temps normal for my setup and usage?

2.Are there ways to reduce the heat even more, because it gets bad enough that I sweat in my room from playing intensive games it's driving me insane.

Don't use IntelBurnTest, it typically overrides your voltage and causes higher temps. For testing use Prime95 V26.6 Small FFT's for 15-30mins. As for your temps they are quite warm for that cooler, are you sure the cooler is mounted correctly? Maybe dust buildup? Dying pump?

1. A bit warm for the CPU cooler.
2. Air conditioning unit or open a window if it's cooler outside., that's what I had to do as my old X4 965/R9 290 was a house heater :p .
