I had success following glitch177k recommendations above. I'll put some text here so it will show up on google searches.
Acromis WD cloning software does reboot...starts acromis ... says preparing ... says cloning ... reboots without cloining. Give up on this crappy software.
Used Clonezilla new disk cloned but extra space not available.
I cloned a 3TB to 4TB and the 3TB cloned but the extra 1TB was not accessible by any means. (I mean a few hours of screwing around). By following glitch177K method of shrinking partition by a meager 100mb the 1TB showed up.
