I have a fx 8320 that has broken pin and an MSI 970a-g43 mobo which is bad as well. I am looking at getting a fx8350 with a 990fx mobo or intel 3570k with a good overclocking mobo I find them cheap on eBay. What is the better option or other option with same or better performance that I can find used under $300. i found an fx 8350 with 990fx mobo for $180 and I found a 3570k with a z77 extreme mobo for about same price. so let me hear the suggestions and I can find a little upgrade for cheap by looking at classifieds and so on. I would go ryzen but then I would have to buy ram too and I cant fit that into the price range I need. If it helps to know I am on water as well. I game and stream on twitch as well.

If you are wanting to do both gaming and streaming, then you'll want an i7. I would not ever recommend any of the older AMD products such as the FX series CPUs because they were so underpowered compared to Intel. If you are going used, look for something like an i7 2700(k)/3770(k)/4770(k)/4790(k) and an appropriate motherboard. Unfortunately unless you find a good deal then you are almost better off buying new and then you could look at a Ryzen 5/7 or an Intel 6 core i5, or any new i7.

Yeah as long as it is all still in working order, then yes $200 is a good deal for that setup. If you get it, slap on a good CPU cooler and I'm sure you'll be able to overclock that thing pretty well.

That should do it then, probably going to have to redo your loop with a new mobo, but I'm sure that the 3770k will do you well.

I'm not personally familiar with that mobo, but it looks like it was decent. The VRMs have a decent heatsink, it has an 8 pin EPS power plug, should be fine. As for overclocking, every CPU is different, but you should be able to get at least 4.5ghz out of a 3770k, possibly higher.
