I want to upgrade my dell 530s with a dedicated gpu for light gaming but need to know what gpu it will work with

The GT1030 would be OK some people are running the GTX1050Ti in those.
A built out 530s would have a Q9650 CPU, the latest BIOS from Dell, 8GB GGR2 800 RAM (maybe 667?) GTX1050Ti.
You didn't say what CPU or how much RAM you have. But if you're running a 2 core the 1030 will be fine. I would suggest at leat 6GB RAM even with a 32 bit OS to run a modern 2GB GPU.
