Hi,

I recently upgraded my CPU from an intel core i5 6700k to 7600k, i had to upgrade the bios for my motherboard to support the new cpu. After this my CPU usage goes goes up and down from 0-100% whenever i for example start chrome or any game and the fan sounds like a jet engine..
Any advice on what to do would be extremely appreciated.

Solution
CPU cooler profiles (high performance, silent) can be configured in BIOS. Also with turbo boost enabled on a stock Intel cooler there will be considerable fan noise spikes. Some solutions are:

- Put fan in silent profile in your BIOS settings
- Turn off Turbo Boost in BIOS settings
- Install a quieter and larger aftermarket CPU cooler.
