Will my psu be able to handle a gt 1030?

I just ordered a used how 8300 from an eBay seller. It has 8gbs of ddr3 ram, a core i5 3740, and a generic hp psu. I also bought a gt 1030. I was wondering if the power supply in the hp 8300 (which is 240w) would be able to handle the gt 1030. I have read about hp's psu's being notorious for being of low quality and just want to know if I can safely put this graphics card in my PC without any frying or explosions, or should I just buy another psu?

It should be okay. GT 1030 is not a very power hungry card.

A GeForce GT 1030 only consumes about 30w , so more than likely it should be able to run it.

I believe that PC has a small form-factor case, so you also might want to make sure that the card physically fits. Most 1030s are low-profile, which is what you want, though a few are larger sized.
