does the DX58so MOBO works with ECC RAM? ive done some research but i cant find any forum or anything in particular that has confirmed it working with a xeon x5650 i really want to give my 2 8gb ddr3 modules to my lil bro and just blast my system with (ecc ram 4 4gb ecc) but i dont know if you can overclock ecc ram as well, so id like to ask about that as well

The DX58SO does support EEC RAM per Intel Ark as does x5650.

I've never attempted to overclock ECC RAM. It is generally designed for accuracy and consistency not blazing high performance. 1600MHz is as fast as the board will let you go anyways.

Mixing and matching RAM DIMMs can cause instability. If you have issues booting, revert to the previous configuration. That motherboard should support 16GB though.
