I recently got my new graphics card (Gigabyte 4gb 1050 ti wind-force oc edition) and it is having some problems. I was playing rainbow 6 siege on max setting and getting a solid 60. The next day i started to play again and i was running at like 30 fps. I reinstalled the game-ready drivers from nvidia and i started the game again. Te first match was perfect but the next one went back to around 30 fps. I'm not sure what to do about this and i want some help.

Solution

Try uninstalling it and loading a program like HWmonitor to verify at idle your clocks are down to around 100MHz or somewhere around there. Then load into a game and see if the clocks are going up properly. Sometimes old overclocking software can interfere with new cards.

If you are running Windows 10 you may want to disable automatic driver updates. Other than that, trying looking at Windows resource monitor to see if there are any programs eating up your CPU or RAM.

recheck your nvidia control panel. go to 3d settings. global. set power management to adaptive or max performance. restart. and try to play your games if it improved. or its more stable.

also on your windows power management (in the control panel). set it to high performance.
