Hello

I have quite old PC and i want to upgrade it cheaply. Now i wonder what to buy first, ram or video card? I'm thinking about running games like Fallout 4 with decent fps. For last I will save buying SSD. My PC:

CPU: 1st gen I5 750 2.66

Motherboard: ipower G3610

Video card: GTX 550 Ti 1GB

Ram: 8 GB (with strange configuration 4+1+2+1, I've became aware of it only recently)

HDD

I want to buy GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB but I'm unsure about ram, theoretically i could use 1600 but seller recommended me 1333. (1333MHZ, 4GB DDR3, PC3-10600, HYNIX). Am I right that my motherboard can use 16 GB of ram?

Solution
a. upgrading from a 550 1Gb to a 1050 ti 4Gb will improve your gaming experience why I list it first
b. Packard Bell ipower G3610 motherboard can support up to 16GB, 4GB per slot. so you need to find a 4x4gb 16GB DDR3-1333 kit
c. upgrading your i5-750 to an I7-860 or i7-870 would improve your gaming experience (eBay are loaded with them at ~50$ usd prices.)
c. adding an SSD will improve performance (more snappy loading)

First of all the cpu only supports ram upto 1333mhz, that why seller recommended 1333mhz. If the combo of ram is not giving any issues, then buy the gpu, there will be huge performance gain in the games if you upgrade to a 1050 ti. Yea you are right about the 16gb of ram.
