Weird front panel USB ports behaviour

I am experiencing some issues with my Aerocool QS-240 front panel USB ports and my ASRock AB350M Motherboard.

When I plug a simple pen drive, everything works correctly and I can perform write/read operations with no issues, but if I plug an Hard Drive, it is not recognized at all. Same if I connect a WiFi dongle with the difference that it is occasionally recognized.

After about 30 seconds a non-pendrive device is plugged in the front panel USB, system cuts off power from every USB3 port, front and rear, except for my mouse and keyboard which are directly connected to the USB2 ports on the motherboard.
I initally thought that it was an USB3 issue only, but I recently discovered that it happens on front USB2 ports as well.

It looks like a kind of hardware protection because when the USB3 ports are powered off in this way and I try to shut down my computer, it does not automatically turn off, having me to keep the power button pressed.

I already double checked my wirings, no bent pins and no bad plug connections. Everything looks snug and fine.

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

To be honest, not yet.
I've read many bad stories about updating ASRock AM4 boards, and I am a really prudent guy.
I think I will update later on after holidays so I can have quicker RMA just in case everything goes wrong.
Thanks for the answer, I will keep you updated.
